Question on printer setup

Just a quick question for everyone here but every time I print anything I have to save the document first, is there any way to disable this feature i just want to print pages straight from the source like i always have in the past. I am using windows xp 64 bit, but it is also happening on my other computer wihich has xp. I know its a stupid question but it is really annoying. Thanks

I've never heard of this problem. Why do you have to save the document first? Does the program require it, or does nothing print? What word processing software do you use? What is the brand and model of your printer?
 
Is the printer that you want to print to set as default printer? If not, make it so.
