Question on physics/3 gpu's

Hey guys, I just ordered all the parts for my new conroe system. Grabbed the Intel BadAxe with 3 pci-e slots. I'm getting a crossfire setup. But what I'm wondering is, I've heard about this new tech ATI will unvail being able to use a third gpu to do physics calculations. If I buy 2 X1950XTX's and use crossfire, will it be incompatible with the RD600 when it comes out and adds support for physics? I'm hoping ATI will be smart about adding this feature and have it backwards compatible with any gpu.

Last i heard the only requirement for the third gpu was it had to be x1600 or higher, I really dont think you will have any issues with your future setup. However time will tell and nothing is certain.

Just had a thought...

What if I buy a 1900XTX now, and then grab a crossfire setup when the RD600's come out, and use the 1900XTX as physics? money is not really an issue in this respect

That should work. ATI showcased their physics using a 1900XTX + Crossfire + another XTX for physics.

Assuming ATI will allow mixing different cores for the main GPUs and the physics processing GPU, it would be fine.
