Question on MB and CPU

I'm looking to make a small HTPC, it won't need that much power yet. Currently all I need it to do is display SD and do some emulators, however in the future I would like to be able to view HD content, so I would like my MB to upgradable. I've been looking into the Intel based MB because I would really like to upgrade to a conroe based chip in the future, but i'm having a some trouble.

here are some requirements:
Micro-ATX
Low-Cost -- I don't want to much over $100 for the CPU+MB right now
Low Power, low-Noise, low heat.. Since this will be a HTPC I don't want to have to put a screaming fan in there.
Linux -- I'm using mythtv so it'll need to work in linux

Since it suppose to work with conroe, and it seems like the right price. however it's AGP and I would like PCI Express for the future. And even if it was exactly what I was looking for I have no clue on what Intel CPU I would get.

So does any one have any suggestions on a conroe compatible MB, and a non-conroe cheaper CPU to go in it?

i'm not sure if i'm going to go this route, or just go and get the 3400+ bundle that newegg is running right now. Anyway, which PS should I go with, are there special smaller power supplies for SFF systems..? I haven't even started to look for that stuff yet..
 
Some come with proprietary sized PSUs, most will fit standard PSUs. All depends on which case you choose... Most of the ones with proprietary PSUs are garbage and will be required to be replaced, except for the ARIA and Shuttles.

Fortron, Xclio and Antec all have good PSUs for reasonable prices.
