Question on adding serial hd as my boot drive

Ok, I just did a fresh install of Windows XP Pro on my current 7200 rpm hd. I've imaged the drive and I would like to put one of my WD 36 Raptor hd's as my primary boot drive in this pc.

Now the question...is there ANYWAY I can put this serial hd in and then copy the image onto it? Or is there no way? I didn't think about installing the 'Third party drivers' at the time, because I wasn't planning on doing this.

Suggestions appreciated.
 
certanly. Install your SATA drivers now, install the Raptor HD and get it working in windows as a 2nd drive just to be sure, then do the drive image, and unplug your old 7200 drive to make sure you can boot off of the Raptor.. then after you are sure it works, format the 7200 drive.
