My friend has an Intel Serverboard model L440GX+ with two 1 gig P3 processors.. For some reason it's only recognizing one processor.. Anyone know why this may be? He's also running Windows XP Pro and has 1 gig of Ram.

Have you verified that each processor works OK by itself?

I'm not an intel person (so if I'm wrong someone please correct me) but I believe that both CPUs have to be of the same core revision for it to work.

yeah I'm not sure I've never dealt with a dual cpu system myself.. The bios is very old and very basic, I looked through it, didn't see anything to enable another processor or anything..

Both cpu's should be the same core, but unofficially it works otherwise. Where doesn't it recognize the cpu's in windows, or during boot up?

For that particular chipset I believe he will need a cpu terminator card to run a single CPU. I know alot of the slot based chipsets around that time frame needed the terminator card to run a single CPU. So he may not be able to do that test.

Does it recognize both cpus during at the bios level during the initial post?
