Hey DC, I have two spare G34 servers that have been decommed. I put one on an isolated vlan and powered up the smp client with -bigadv.

Each server has 2 Opteron 6168s for 24 cores total. The one server is giving me the below results.

Three questions

Is this normal, just 24k PPD? My 6 core desktop can pull 9k a day
Is bigadv bonus not added to the PPD in hfm.net monitor tool?
Would I get more points out of 2 boxes with 24 cores, or 1 box with 48 cores?

8828 is not a bigadv WU
#1 are you running Linux or Windows you can only get bigadv on Linux boxen
#2 Is this the first WU run on the box if so it is normal to get a regular smp for your first WU on a new install of FAH even with bigadv flag.
#3 I am not sure that 2 - 6168's will finsh an 8101 bigadv before the deadline, it should not have any problem with 8102, 8103, 8104 or 8105's though.

thanks bud!

It's a windows box. So, i'm stuck just with normal smp?

could I boot linux off a thumbdrive and smp -bigadv this guy?

And for a short time I had two 6168s in a 2P configuration.
If I recall correctly it did complete an 8101 under the limit and all other bigadvs

AWWW YESSSS Thanks Core32

Yeah the H image will auto config based on system specs, afaik. This may have been changed. You can also hop on IRC and ask, we have some 4P peeps there.

My HFM log shows a TPF of 30:41 on an 8101 with a 2P and those chips.
That's a long time to complete a WU but was under the limit, about 100K points on the worst.
