Knowing what you know now, would you still buy the 2005fpw if you had to do it all over again?
How bad is the backlight issue when watching movies?
Can you post a screenshot of your monitor with a full page of 12pt word document. I want to see if the text will be two small at the native resolution. My eyes aren't bad but I don't want to sit close to the monitor...I want to sit back and chillax whilst I go abouts my business on the computer.

Majority of the screens dont have backlighting issues, or not enough to have to complain about at all. You just hear the problem cases. That said, mine is awsome and I'd never go back to my 19" CRT again. Speaking of font size, native res on this feels huge compared to working on my laptop, so I think it's good. Just find a good deal and buy it :D
 
It's honestly the best monitor out all around. I was worried before I got mine, you really don't need to be worried. It's amazing.
 
I liked it so well that I bought a 2nd one for my 2nd box. I went from a 20" CRT on my main box & a 19" CRT on my 2nd box & I will never go back to a CRT again.
 
Yeah love mine too, would buy it again in a heartbeat. Check yer pm's for a screenie.
 
I'm considering in buying it, so I'm very intersted in users' input like you.
I've heard that the newer revision 2005FPW's don't have backlight bleeding issues, and the dead pixels amount is minimal. Plus, the 2005FPW uses an S-IPS panel it's better for games (especially for fast, dynamic games like FPS) over the 2405FPW.
 
Mine rocks! Certainly one of the best peripheral purchases I've ever made, and I got it cheap for about 350$ off on one of the "Dell Days" one day deals. :D

The insanity on this forum over this monitor was raised to such a fever pitch that there will never ever ever be any kind of remotely objective opinion about it here ever again. I suspect that the vast majority of these are just fine.

I ordered mine on friday, it shipped out via UPS last night (does ups ship on sunday?) and the general idea that I got from the forum was that if you dont want back light bleeding or dead pixels I will have to RMA it once or twice... but recently, I've heard that the newer versions don't have these problems (or at least not on the scale that they did) so hopefully I should get it straight out of the box ready to go with no problems?

im a little too excited over this monitor right now, so I hope its as close to perfect as i'll want the first time...
 
Can somebody please post an external picture of it(digital camera) with some 12pt text inside a word document please?

By the way, thanks AMD, for posting a simple digicam picture of your monitor. You have no idea how hard it was to get somebody to take a bloody picture of their monitor.
 
i ordered mine and was woried about all the issues people had talked about on the forums. However once i recieved my display (afew days ago), all my fears went away. There are no dead pixles that i can see, and the only time i see very slight back light leakage is if the room is dark and the screen is all black. Im very glad with this purchase, everything is amazing on it. I would definatly order another one, and also the widescreen resolution is amazing!

Same here, got mine 3 weeks ago and it kicks butt! Im glad my x850xt can keep up while running high settings at 1680x1050!! hah

Edit: As you can tell, I don't have the software installed to adjust the orientation of the screen - never bothered. Still, it's a fun little add-on.
