Question concerning RAM when overclocking 3200+ 90nm

So I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy the new 90nm AMD 64 3200+ along with an MSI K8N Neo2 Plat, along with a better heatsink/fan.

The RAM I bought before I decided to do this was 1gb of Corsair Value Select PC3200. Now I'm told that this ram is not great for overclocking as I'm looking to bring this cpu from 2.0 to 2.5 or so. I figure I'll go ahead and use it for a while, but I want to OC eventually.

If I need to get new RAM, do any of you have suggestions? I'm really not sure what's going to get me there, or close.

I'll prolly put this ram on the comp I have now or do something with it.. maybe put it in also for 2GB.

Any other tips yall may have? I have never built a computer before but I'm good at learning, and I have to start sometime. Thanks

Bump, could really use some feedback. I think now I'll still be able to return the Corsair Value ram I have now, and get 85% of my money back.

Well MikeWasHere, I have the same CPU and board as you and I think you'll be happy with it! I too wanted to hit that magical (in my head anyway) 2.5ghz mark. I did get it there even with some crap* PC4000 HYPER-X. I'll admit it took allot of tweaking and I have some crap-tastic timings on it; but I'm happy. Being your first 'Puter I wouldn't worry too much about overclocking right now. Just make sure you use good components (not necessarily the best) and take your time. I'm always happy to see new people building their own computers, don't let anything scare you its easier than you think! Anyway, That Value Select might not be the best for overclocking (I have no idea, read good things and bad things); but I know it’s good for the price if you got it from newegg. I don't know what’s good ram for the AMD 64, I heard Crucial Ballistic was good, but then I read allot of posts with people saying it was junk. I guess the on-board memory controller is real picky so I don't have a clue. If you do a search I'm sure you will come up with a ton of opinions. Good luck with your new 'puter :p

*Flew in an Intel 3.0 system, but the Athlon treats it like a red headed step child
