I just got everything up and running and installed on my first build. AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+, Asus M2N-E, and Corsair XMS2 DDR2-800. The advertised timings for this RAM are 5-5-5-12. After running CPU-Z and looking at it, it says 5-5-5-18, if i'm reading it correctly. Does this mean that I need to manually set the RAM timings, or isn't this significantly hurting my performance? Or maybe I am just reading CPU-Z wrong?

that is because they are set at SPD (serial presence detect) , you can do it now if you want , manually tighten them or do it after couple of weeks which will be slightly better cos the ram will be better performing after that time.
 
plus i don't think using tras 18 instead of 12 will hurt performance. no noticable difference
 
Thanks for the replies. Everything seems to run smoothly so I doubt I will mess around with it.
