Well like i said in topic, i just boughta Zalman 7000cu and Its going to be cooling a p4 2.6c w/an IS7-E mobo. Is the weight too much for the mobo? Is it dangerously too heavy? Im not sure cuz while i am careful, i do lug my comp around a bit and i wanna make sure it would be ok. (i would be careful tho)

Just don't make too sudden jerks with the case.. I've got the same cooler and I do some moving around as well.. No problems yet.

I really don't think it's as big a problem as people make it seem.

What motherboard/processor do you have bro?

i just instlaled mine today, great hsu. be careful wiht the fins and pushed two sets together (too lazy to push them apart :D ) its not that bad. yea the thing is heavy but if u instlal it right and screw it tight no problems

I have one as well, on a Chaintech ZNF3-150 (w/ my A64 w00t! :D)

at any rate, although i don't move my computer at all, it is reallllly well on there. since you had to screw it in w/ a clamp under the mobo..it's not going anywhere, i wouldn't think.

I've moved mine around quite a bit as well and think it's just fine.
I try to lay the machine on it's side ( HS facing UP, obviously...) just to be safe...

well i cant lay mine on its side, simply because i have no room to do that, but my board should still be ok right?

Dont worry about it being to heavy its just fine i go to a lan party twice a month so it will be fine i have it cooling my p4 3.2 ghz extreme edition with no problems

I have it on a Abit NF7-S (had to be modified to fit) and I dont move the thing more than a few feet so its fine but there is no way Id take it out the door without removing the heatsink. Last thing I wanna see is it tear its mounts outta the Mobo. Maybe Intel boards have a stronger mount than AMDs.

Just be careful when transporting the computer. I have a friend who recently brought me his computer because it refused to power on. After taking a look at it, I noticed that his Zalman had come loose from one of the mounting brackets and the entire unit had shifted. So, I removed it and the processor wasn't in the socket. I looked on the bottom of the heat sink and there it was. Fortunately, no major damage was done and I was able to pop the CPU back in, apply new AS5 and it was good again.

Just make sure that:
1) The screws are tightened down before transport
2) When you put the computer in your car when going to a LAN party that you put the case on it's side, HSF facing up, so that gravity doesn't do mean things and pull it loose when you hit a bump or whatnot.

Other than that, you're fine. :D Don't worry guy, it's gonna be alright.

Thanks, i guess im already cautious cuz i do put it on its side when transporting it. I'll try not to jerk it around much with that baby in here. Thanks
