Heya!

Software/OS is really new but maybe some has inside to this case and knows about it.. Been googling for a bit and cant find info about this small thing..

Does storage pools still spin all hdds at the same time? Or does it have option to spin all at once or spin just one hdd at once..?

I'd recommend you have this thread moved to https://hardforum.com/forums/ssds-data-storage.29/

But to answer your question, typically storage pools use software to define where the data is stored based on the resiliency level you select. That means the data could be spread across several disk at once. So a single disk may have multiple volumes on it, each of which are protected by different resiliency levels. Essentially, all disk are used at all time.

Say if you are using Mirroring; that doesn't mean only two disk are used, it just means the chunk of data is on two disk. The volume itself may be using several disk. Spreading the data around improves performance.

Now, does that mean the drives never power down and head park? I think that is more dependent on the type of drive you are using. If it's a consumer level drive then they will do that. If it's an Enterprise level drive they would likely not do that.
