Question about video card choice

I'm looking to buy a 42" plasma monitor for a computer (compaq deskpro...P3; 386mb...its like 4 years old or so), but the computer that i would use with it doesnt have a good enough video card (it has to have a dvi slot).

Any recommendations? I was thinking this.

That video card should be plenty for that display, and is probablly one of the better PCI cards you can get on the market.

That being said, what is this going to be used for. That computer is not going to push any demanding content. You just needing lots of space to work or something? Also with that computer I would not expect to play too many games on it.
 
its not for games - i need to put up a stock ticker for an entire office to see, and to get a new system for it would, i think, be unnessescary purcahse.

i would probably put xp on it, but the program itself isnt too demanding at all - its basically a glorified excel spreadsheet.
 
I would not sweat it then, you should probablly be fine, but I would check your power supply, but those PCI cards are not very demanding.
 
It's native resolution is just 852 x 480 so that card should be fine.
