My girlfriend has a 1440p korean monitor hooked up to her 7950. She wanted a second korean display so we bought one. I forgot to check and see, but her 7950 only has one dvi and then hdmi/display ports. We could get a display port to dual ink adapter for like $70... bummer. Alternatively, I wonder if we could get a second GPU (something like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...82&cm_re=sapphire_5450-_-14-102-882-_-Product ). Will it be possible to run one monitor on each gpu? She wasn't planning on gaming on both monitors, just one. Will is be a driver/setup mess or impact gaming performance on the one monitor? Or will it even work at all? Thanks.

Not gaming I'd get the adapter. Reason being currently the 5xxx cards use the same drivers as the 7950. I would not bet against them being relegated as being a legacy card in a year or less and trying to run 2 different versions of catalyst at the same time would be problematic.

7000 series is GCN, they aren't going to be "legacy" support anytime soon.
