I have a friend who has a P4 2.8 and 7800GS. Thing is, he wants to upgrade his processor and motherboard. He is looking at getting a mobo that has support for AGP and PCI-express.
Question is will it be worth the money. He has like 250.00. I was wondering if he bought say a Pentium D 3.2. Would he see that much of a difference? Or would it make more sense to just wait and go for the Core 2 stuff when he has more money. I am not familiar with the Intel chips cause I don't have one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Can anyone help? I know everyone that posts here has there opinion. Just asking for a little help here please!

Wait,as going from a 2.8 to a 3.2 is not worth the cash....

I would in your friend's situation ditch the AGP all together...

Sell your old stuff and combine the $250 and you can probably sway a Conroe system...

Yeah, don't throw money at a D system.

I had a pretty good idea that would be the case. I just wanted to see if I was giving him the right advice.
