Ok here is what I want to do. I want to be able to use my Tv as a computer screen and I want to be able to record stuff from my tv and save on my computer. And be able to like edit it and stuff and watch the video. Now I have video card that has a port which say S-video out. If I but an S-video cable can I do some of the stuff I want to do with my card I have now . I dont know where i would plug it in either I have never done this before. If my card cant do this please tell me what I have to do.

You did not say what card you have but it sounds like all you have is video out. Most cards do not have video in.

With your current card you can put stuff from your computer on your TV but text will not work well on yout TV. You will be unable to read anything over a size 36 font!

Instructions for your current card:
Plug the S-video cable into your card, then the S-Video cable into your S-Video In port in your TV or VCR. If your stuff does not have S-Video In there are adapters that can switch S-Video into normal A/V plugs.

Cards that have both video in and out include:

Any Radeon card that has AIW (All in Wonder) in the card name
The X800 Pro VIVO (video in video out)
The X800 XT VIVO
There are 6600 GTs with VIVO

Cards that can be put in a PCI slot. (You keep you REAL video card in the AGP slot.)

ATI's TV Wonder series
Hauppauge WinTV line
there is others just look around
