I dont know where to post this so i put it here. I have a question: Can comcast broadband internet company detect whether i go on porn sites or not? Im tryin to be serious here, so please dont turn this thread into something destroyed. Im just wondering because my mother claims she saw me on them when in fact i do go on them but obviously wouldnt want my mother to know. If it helps, im 19 and in college, so i should have my own say, but its considered a huge taboo in my family to look at porn. Can comcast detect that stuff? Thanks

Conceivably, yeah. Your ISP keeps logs of every page you visit. Still, I wouldn't worry about your mother finding out. Unless she gets a federal subpoena, your ISP can't release the logs to her.

You should just use the excuse I used to use when my mom caught me. Tell her it's a pop-up (it helps if she's computer illiterate ).

Make sure you clear your history and clean your keyboard after looking at pr0n.

They conceivably could block porn sites, but I doubt they would as it would be a huge overhead if they started taking requests from every customer about which pages they want blocked.

Since everything you do on the internet goes through your ISP, they can see EVERYTHING you do. They aren't going to call your mother and tell her about it, but if your mother is on the account then she might be able to get activity logs from them. I don't know your mother, but I doubt she went through that much trouble. Are you clearing your history and cache?

I have my own PC: Built it myself from scratch. Im the only one that uses this. My mom has no idea how to run internet explorer, nontheless check temp itnernet files. Even so, i sitll take precautions and delete history and files religiously.

bought them too, cost me damn two months of work to pay for it but i did pay for it myself, anyways that isnt the issue..
