Question about this Gateway laptop.

It's a fine laptop, but I think you can get more for your money. Try the Gateway website - they've got a discounted shipping thing going on right now - could save you some dough.

I'd actually go for a beefier Core Duo - get a T2400 - great value. If you're doing just normal computing stuff, 1GB of RAM is more than enough.

I'd also consider going from the 5400RPM hard drive to the 7200. We've seen that make all the difference in the world with the systems we've had in the office.
 
also, if u plan on ANY gaming its a nono, as the 950 sucks, iu can pick up a decent xps off the fs/ft for around that price
