Question about the wireless optical mouse..

Hey i have one of those wireless mouses made by microsoft... my problem is that occasionally it the mouse pointer will jerk in a random direction for no apparent reason. it happens very fast and very randomly... not all the time, just sometimes. but it can be very annoying during a game. how should i fix this??

if u want me to go into more detail i can... thanks guys
 
sounds like interference. Keep the reciever away from any big RF sources, like the back of your computer, TVs, UPSs, large power cords, etc. Also try changing the channel on the mouse.
 
I have the same problem. I'm pretty sure it's just interference related. The optical sensor also isn't the best, so it does make a difference on what surface you use.
 
i had the same problem when i was usin it on a bare wood-lookin surface...i got a mousepad, and it fixed it, so maybe thats wats wrong
 
I know this may sound strange, but the biggest problem I have with any optical mouse, is external light. Especially sunlight. If there's a large concentration of light coming onto your mouse it'll kill the sensors ability to track movement. I have a MS Wireless Optical 2.0. It also did it with my wired optical as well. Although I must say after switching to a 3000mCd blue LED, I'm not having the light interference as much.
