I'm getting a Asus P5B, which has two ethernet jacks. I have not encountered this before. Wouldn't you only need one? Why is this? Which one should I use?
Registered jack 45 or RJ-45 , this is for the internet and networking , a data bus for periherals and the internet(also networking and mainly is that cos internet is also networking)
One is more than enough cos it has 1gb/s capabilaty , the new 590 SLi board uses both the ports and provides twice the data rate and decreases ping times.
I used this board(for my nephews pc) and its good enough for a core 2 duo ,most of the features on the average board turns out to be a waste and with this one its perfect. Its a little smaller than the average board ATX.
use which ever one you want to use ..dont matter.. unless of course one of them stops working correctly as in the case I've had with many nforce mobos and nvidia's onboard nics
