question about the cases ( hight )

I have a question,guys,about the cases and hights.
For some reasons i wanted to remove the graphic card ( GTX 285 ) from PCIEX 16 to PCI EX 8. ( If the graphic card is getting slower or not,i don't know )
I couldn't put it in the PCI EX 8,because is very close to the power supply,don't fit in.
After i searched for another case,i found the Cooler Master HAF 922,and i think i take it.
HAF 922 it's higher than the CM 690 with about 2 cm ( 1 inch,aprox )
Now,my question: if HAF 922 is higher,do you think that between the power supply and the PCI EX 8 would be more space ? 2 cm more ? Am i wrong or not ?
Both cases have the power supply on the bottom.
If you have any ideas,please help me.Cheers.
 
buy a case that has a seperated portion for the PSU. Like the and P180 series. Does the case have to be a mid tower or would you be willing to use a full tower case like the HAF 932?
 
My specs are :
CPU Intel7 920 2,66 Ghz , 3 GB DDR3 ,Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5,2 X Western Digital 6400 AAKS ,
SoundBlaster X-FI Xtreme Gamer,Nvidia PNY GTX 285,DVD RW LG,Corsair TX 650W.
I dont know about the PSU. Is it better to have it on top or on the bottom ?
