Ok, finally got my rig built, and the cpu is running about 34C idle, and about 42C under heavy load. I dont' THINK that's too bad, but since I couldn't really compare based off of what I've seen in the forums, I figured I'd ask. Any ideas on whether or not it's running cool enough?

AMD64 3500 clawhammer
MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum SLI
Corsair XMS 2x512
WD Caviar 250gb SATA
Zalman copper 120mm HSF (can't remember the model number)
2x120mm, 1x80mm case fans

Do you think those temps are low enough? I built the system with the intention of OC'ing, however, I don't know if it's running cool enough to allow for it.

any suggestions or ideas would be great.

::EDIT:: Oh yeah, I ran memtest for about 15 hours to put the system under load (it was at 100% then entire time) If anyone knows of a better stress test, let me know.
 
Yea, those temps are fine. Since that's a 130nm Clawhammer core you have (which should overclock nicely might I add, should be a gimped FX-55 ;)) it'll run a little warmer than it's 90nm brethern. But 45C load after 15 hours isn't bad...as long as it stays below 60C you're fine, but the cooler it is the better.
 
Good to hear. :) I still have to give the AS5 time to set correctly. Ugh, 200 hours is what they want. That's a long time with no OC. Thanks for the confirmation. :)
