I scavenged a momentary switch to replace the dying one in my case, but the new one has four wires - 2 white on one side, 1 black 1 white on the other. I'm wondering which two I should use. It's simply for power on/off, no LEDs. I can take a picture if needed.

There are markings by each wire: Two white: 1.2, 2.2. White and black: 1.1, 2.1

do you have an ohm meter, you can find out which wires are what with one

Pictures can help, but my guess is the black/white pair is an led you may not see.

It could be the black and white are the regular momentary part and the other white are auxiliary contacts. (One normally open and the other normally closed)

Without a model, it’s hard to be sure, otherwise as said above, a multimeter (even a cheap harbor freight one) should get you an answer pretty quick.
