i think i'm gonna order a q6600 this week and i was wondering about the stepping. by this point am i pretty much guaranteed a G0 or is there a chance of receiving a B3. and if anyone bought from the microcenter $199 deal what did you end up with?

I got my Q6600 at Microcenter about 2 weeks ago and it was a G0. The guy in the store even mentioned it before I asked so he was even knowledgeable about it. You can see the chip in the box when you go in. The ID for a G0 stepping Q6600 is SLACR. If you see (I think) SL9UM then you know it's a B3.

When ordering online you really don't have much of a way to guarantee it but it's pretty uncommon to get a B3 from a big vendor these days as far as I know.
