question about Sound Dampening material

At work, I grabbed some sound dampening stuff we used to quiet down a Blower Motor Housing.

Im just wondering if installing this in my PC will cause an increase in heat at all? Its fairly thick stuff, i dont have it here with me. But im going to grab it tonight or tomorrow.

I have a Lian Li on its way, and a custom apevia X-Qpack. Should have enough to do both, and more.
 
since air is constantly moving in the case, it wont make much difference adding that, if it were a passive system it would be different, so you should be fine.
 
I just installed the FrozenCPU material that you linked to on my recent build. Good stuff, and easy to work with. As I installed it during a build, I don't have any before/after comments, but I can tell you that it is good material, easy to work with, and at $20, you can't beat it.
 
It really doesn't work that well. It might lower the frequency of loud pitched noises, but overall, the noise level with/without it will be very similar.

It is purty though. Just make sure, you NEVER want it off whatever you're putting it on :eek:

And no, it won't increase case temperatures by any appreciable degree.
 
I've heard very good things about the ACOUSTIPACK kits via SPCR.

The Spire kit's reputedly worthless (again, via SPCR).
 
Yes, do not use Spire (and I think Akasa is the same stuff). I used it on my PC70 case. It did nothing in terms of noise and it is a huge pain to remove, if you can even get the stuff off.
