alright, to make as to sound as non-noob as possible, let me walk you through you question. basically i was looking into a dell 2005fpw which is a screen measuring 20.1" and my current lcd is a benq fp937s measuring in at 19", but it is non-widescreen. The question to anyone reading this is, is this a normal 20" lcd stretched out on teh sides giving it its wide-screen format, or is the actual diagonal of the 2005fpw measuring in at 20.1", so the screen itself is more comparable to say a 17" lcd stretch out on the sides. The reason i'm looking for a new monitor is because i'm rather dissastisfied with the 6bit panel. it feels like the screen is between a commadore and a crt in term of color reproduction, and coming from a beautiful crt it really doesn't settle well with me. Also i use wide-screen lcds at work all the time and i absolutely love them :D

Yeah, it's like a 17" stretched. To me, the 2001FP looks hell of a lot bigger than the 2005FPW when compared side by side even though they are both 20.1".
