Question about Sata Setup

Howdy fellas, have a ? here and its about Sata HD's and Sata Optical

ok lets get down to the nitty gritty.

i bought a P5K Deluxe, and i bought 2 160gb WD Sata HD's and 1 Sata Optical (LG i think)

ok anyway on the manual it says use Sata port 1/2/5/6 color of red = boot disk
and Sata port 3/4 color black=data disk

ok, pretty self explanatory, i use sata port 1 for my boot disk, and sata 3 as my data, awesome.

but what about my optical drive? do i put it on 4 or do i make it a master as well?

and the 2nd part of this ? is when im looking down it says set sata as IDE
which i think i understand, but i need to make sure that my optical says CDROM in the bios right?

so should i leave it as Sata as IDE or change it to AHCI>? what does AHCI exactly mean? err what does it do for it?

You'll want the optical on a bootable port if you plan to ever boot from CD/DVD.

Leave the IDE/AHCI as default and don't change any jumpers on the drives.
