Can i get corsair ram? my friend told me that they are a little different from other rams. like only some mobos support it.

also if you look at the mobo i have, you can probably tell that it can only support PC2100. so is it ok to buy PC3200 or soemthing like that? it will just downclock it right?

im thinking of getting a kingston pc3200 for 99 bucks. can i get it cheaper?
 
Different chips sometimes wont run in certain motherboards but for the most part there isn't certain brands you can't use in certain boards. Mushkin, Corsair, and Kingston are the best stuff to choose from. Since your probably not overclocking you will be fine with value RAM. As far as speeds go you can juse PC2100, PC2700, PC3200, PC4000 or whatever as long as its DDR. Its just only going to run at PC2100 speeds though. I wouldn't get anything over PC3200.
 
just get the kingston bra. kingston rules. and yeah, you can put anything DDR in there as long as it's 2100+. The stuff will just underclock itself. it will also let you overclock very nicely too if you would like to try.
 
You can probably pick up some cheap PC2700 if you just want to have the RAM, if you're going to OC then get some faster stuff ... but kind of limited with your mobo.
