Question about Prelude inputs.....

My X-fi Platinum fried today (I'm an idiot) and I'm looking to replace it with something of a higher quality. I hear the Prelude fits that bill but it doesn't have an I/O box like the Platinum that I need so my question is, can you use the optical / coaxial combo port accept analogue RCA inputs?

I have two devices I need to input into the card. 1) Satellite radio using a 3.5mm connection and 2) HD Radio using stereo RCA cables. Doable on the Prelude or should I replace my Creative card and possibly modify it?

No, the optical/coaxial "Flexijack" input is for S/PDIF input only.

The optical input is for optical, not analogue

Use the 3.5mm stereo line input for analogue http://www.auzentech.com/site/products/x-fi_prelude.php#specifications

You could use Y-adapters to achieve your requirements if you plan to hook two devices to it. It won't look the cleanest though...

What about the internal Auxiliary input? I'm wondering if I could splice the ground, left, and right channels into that?

I'm not sure if the satellite and HD shut off when not in use, if they were continuous a Y splitter might not work. I'm not worried about looks since it's in will be in the trunk of my car.
