Question in reguards to Corsair HX620W

Planning an upgrade to a dual 771 Motherboard in a few months.
I noticed may require 2 x EPS/ATX12V 8 pin.

My current Model only has 1 x EPS/ATX12V 8 pin but also has a 4-pin
Is this an either-or / or can both be used?

If both can be used, would a 4-8 pin adapter work - or is this "no-no" when upgrading?

Currently System:
Corsair HX620W
Q6600 @ 2.40Ghz
Intel 975XBX Rev 305
2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400 DDR2
2 x 74GB WD Raptors
1 x 500GB Maxtor SATA 150
ATI 1950XTX - see note
ATI x1650 Pro - see note
Audigy X-FI
6 x 120mm Case Fans

(Note - New system will be using 2 x SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 3450 to lower power usage)

You need to get the proper power supply to work with that type of board. There is no other smart way to do things.
