i have an ASUS A7N8X-X mobo with a amd athlon 2600+ mobile. i want to put it at 200 fsb with a multiplier of 12.5(2.4). what should i put my voltage at?
 
if i raise the voltage. is there a high chance of burning the chip?
 
it depends how high you go...if you look in the overclocking sticky, you can find a link and it posts the theoretical "max" voltage, but you probly don't want to go over 1.8, and stay below 1.7 if you can...but its highly unlikely that you will fry ur chip.
 
thanks guys. im running at 2.4 with voltage of 1.760 as cpu-z says, and im idling at 45 cel
 
i had my cpu running at 2.4 and my computer just restarts sometimes. :[

Looks good to me. Is this stable though, or are you still getting the random restarts?
 
Wow, dont know where some people here are getting there info from, but they're referring to intel voltages not AMD.

Many people that overclock amds such as myself will take voltages to 2V on air cooling and 2.2V on water or phase change cooling. I ran a mobile 2500+ @ 2V for 6months before i sold it and it's still running the same voltages and OC's.

Also, when running higher FSB's you need to consider your memory voltages. Increasing those can stabilize your overclock as well.
