Question about oc'ing an A64 3000+

I've had the system in my sig up and running for about 6 months now and it's great. As you can see, I have it OC'd to 2.15 Ghz. My question is, is that a pretty good oc or do I have more room to go? I have a feeling my memory is holding me back and was thinking about going up to the PC4000 when it starts to come down in price a little. Any comments?

Raise your memory divider and see how far your processor can go. Thaty'll tell you if its worth it or not to upgrade your ram.... 2800-3000+Newcastles on the 754 platform do an average of 2.2-2.4Ghz

That's one thing I haven't quite figured out how to do, change the divider. My mobo is in the sig so if anyone tell me exactly what I need to change, that'd be great!

Check the forums.anandtech.com. In their overclocking section, they have a pretty good guide to the A64.

I have the same processor as you (different mobo), and I can push mine to 2.4Ghz. But my memory cannot go past 230MHz at 2T, and can't push 220MHz at 1T.

So, I run my processor at 2.4GHz, and have the RAM throttled back to 200Mhz by changing the divider, and have it set to 1T.

Great. I'll take a look. I'm sure I can get more out of my A64, I just need to figure out the divider thing .
