Question about "multilane" and multiple arrays

Im thinking of buying the 3ware 9650SE-4LPML RAID card, which has 4 multilane connectors.

What does this mean? It supports 4 drives? or I can have mulitple drives on each connector (8 in total for example).

Reason I ask is, I would like to run 2 SSD drives in RAID0 for OS, and then 4 regular drives in RAID5 for storage. Can I have these 6 drives connected to the same RAID card, and have 2 different arrays (1 of them being bootable)?

Thanks

Its not 4 multilane connectors its is a single 4 port multilane connector for a max of 4 drives on that card. If you bought one with 2 multilane connectors then it would work how you want it but since the 3ware cards are pretty slow you should look into an Areca 8 port.

Areca is x8, and I cant find an i7 mobo that has 2 x16 (for video cards), and a x8.

What if I ran the RAID0 with the mobo RAID controller... and the RAID5 with the card? Will there be a significant performance difference?

These were on the first page of newegg results for i7 motherboard:

ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution (x16 x16 x16)
ASUS Rampage II (x16 x16 x16)
GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD5 (x16 x16 x8)
ASRock X58 Supercomputer (x16 x16 x8 x8)
ASUS P6T (x16 x16 x4)
MSI X58 Eclipse SLI (x16 x16 x4)
MSI X58M Micro ATX (x16 x16 x4 open ended)
