I like to listen to mp3s or internet radio stations when I play Cs:s, my main problem is that I want to see the playlist/Name of the song. My question is which of these options would cause the least impact on game performance?
1) Dual monitors off of my main gaming card (1 game, 1 windows desktop)
2) Dual monitors off of 1 agp and 1 really old pci card.
3) One of those Crystalfontz things that sits in the drivebay and a winamp plugin.
4) After the round starts and I quickly die, alt+tab to winamp and check the song name

Im almost positive that 3 is the most processor efficent soluition but that requires me to spend money. My computer is pretty slow so tabbing back and forth takes too long. So between 1 and 2 which will slow me down the most. Also I would be intrested if anyone else has any ideas about how to do this.

Unless you want to get any better in the game, don't listen to music, listening to the sounds and really concentrating on the game is one of the best strategies if you want to own.

However, if you play just for fun, then yea jamming to music while gaming is awsome, especially metal. Makes you rush constantly and make you just not give a damn about dying or not.

I'd save my money and just make a list of favorite songs to last about 1 hour and put it on shuffle or repeat instead of waste money on another monitor or the CD bay digital mp3 player.

Also crtl + alt + tab will get you killed, so why dont you just be patient and do it when ur already dead?

Save the money and get a better video card, ram or something useful. Another monitor will only add to the electricity bill and more heat in your room ( so more A/C usage).

That's my opinion though ( broke college student )

Hope this helps

I'm not sure if this is possible, but with some games you can actually have programs shown on the screen eg. Winamp. The colours are all weird but you could still read the text. I'm doubtful you could do this with new games now though.
