Ok,

Kingston HyperX DDR 400, the 2x 256 packs are rated for 2-3-2-6 timings. The DDR 466 set is rated at 3-3-3-7 I believe. Why is the DDR 466 higher timings? Does it still really run faster? Are timings even that important

T[H]anks guys..

in this case what it means is its the "slower" speed just running higher but with worse timings

So which would perform better? The DDR 466 at 3-3-3-7 or the DDR400 at 2-3-2-6 / 2-3-2-11..

go with the faster ram, u won't notice those timings that much(probably not at all), and u can OC w/ 1:1 ram timings much faster.

It will be used in an AMD sytem though, I hear the lower/tighter timings make a huge difference when it comes to amd system.

Personal testing on my own systems showed it was a little peppier, but not fast enough to make up for a higher overall memory speed.

Id go with the 466
