Question about memory & FSB Please help!!!

Hi,

i have a evga 790i ultra ddr3 m/board and 2x2gb corsair dominator 1800 mhz memory modules was wondering is it best to run FSB Linked & ideally synced with FSB or can you run lower fsb and faster ram eg 1700FSB & 1800mhz RAM? thought as the ram goes through the fsb surely you can't benifit from having faster ram than the FSB?

can anyone shed some light.

I prefer to run at 1:1 ratio myself, but from what I've seen theres little in the way of any real world perf increase.
