Do the bga ramsinks come with thermal tape/adhesive? If it does come with adhesive for the ramsinks...is it any good?
If not, what do you guys recommend? It will be going on a 7800gtx 512mb.

they do come with thermal tape, but i found them to be unacceptable. if you put them on once (dont miss and reposition), apply a bit of pressure for a few seconds and then never bump them again, itll probably be alright. I had a few fall off once they started gettign warm, and i bumped a few off during my arrangement of tubing and such. I got some arctic alumina adhesive and mixed about 70/30 of thermal compound/epoxy (the epoxy smells distinctly and is thicker) so i coudl remove them later. i foudn this bond to be much better, but liek I said, if you're careful, the tape is ok.

I personally found the tape to be a piece of crap. I just tore off the tape, added a mix between thermal compound and thermal epoxy and they are fine. They stay stuck on there, but I can still wiggle them around on the chips if I need to. I say don't even bother with the tape.

well then, i guess ill go ahead an order some arctic alumina along with the block...
thanks!
