I'm building my first PC, a Micro ATX but I neglected to think about the power supply and now I don't know if the one I have will cope, it's not a gaming machine, it will be used mainly for Photoshop work and web browsing, email etc..

Spec of the machine is..

MSI S478 mATX motherboard with 865G chipset
Pentium 4 2.6GHz 800mhz FSB
2 x 512Mb PC3200 memory
ATI 9200SE 128mb AGP 8x graphics card
Seagate 80GB SATA drive
Sony Combo drive
Floppy

The power supply is a Seventeam ST-232MK 200w with the following ratings

3.3v = 20A
5v = 21A
12v = 13A

max 3.3v + 5v = 135w
max 12v = 156w

There aren't many power supplies that seem to offer better figures than this one, so if the answer is that it isn't enough then I'm a bit snookered.

any thoughts?

I run an mATX machine with a Star Logic 250W PSU. I have a DVD burner, CD burner, internal and external HDD, Radeon 9500np, Adaptec USB card, internal 6-in-1 media reader, and a rheobus. I run 4 fans (120mm Panaflow intake, 80mm out, 80mm on HSF--all Panaflows) and a 60mm fan on my video card. The system is stable at my sig specs--as long as I turn off my external HDD. Everything is stable when I throttle it down to 2.5ghz.

I think as long as you don't do any OCing, you should run fine. You should even be ok with the mildest of overclocks (I'm talking like +100-200mhz). I've seen 350w mATX PSUs on ebay, but I question their quality. I plan to upgrade to a Fortron 270w mATX PSU and see how that goes. Fortron has a reputation of understating their specifications.

BTW, I'd be interested on how much you can OC your system before your system stability suffers.

Thanks TFR, I feel a little more confident, I had a look for the Fortron 270w power supply but can't find anything about it. I found a 300w power supply but the amp's were crap compared to this 200w supply I have here.
