i have 2 macs notebooks. an ibook and powerbook, both G4. the ibook has:
1.33ghz, with 512 L2 cache.
the powerbook has:
800mhz, with 256KB L2 cache, and 1MB L3 cache.
the 800 feels just barely slower than the 1.33, and honestly, the 800's widescreen and my inability to "feel" that its almost half the MHz as the ibook, has caused it to become my main machine.
so my question is... does L3 cache make that big of a difference? (the ibooks system profiler doesnt even list an L3 cache, and its a much newer system, i guess PPC processors have as many variations as intel's do these days...). thanks for any replies, the last time i kept up with this stuff seemed like the stone ages
