Question about imaging and removing SID for Active dir

I am setting up a single universal image with Acronis Imaging Backup software. The image works fine on the 3 different pcs I have tried it on using the Universal Restore option but when I get the network driver installed on the newly restored pc, it will not allow me to log in to our domain because there is already a pc with that same name and SID ( security identifier).

so I want to know my best options.


1. Redo the original image and have it setup as workgroup instead of our domain and add the pc to our domain after restoring the image.

2. Find a way to remove the SID before finalizing the original image.

3. ??

seeing as you can only have 1 instance of a computer name, you do not want to make an image of a computer already joined to the domain.
