Question about hybrid drives

My PS4 is collecting dust, and my launch 40GB PS3 keeps filling up.
I think its about time I put a new drive in my PS3

When I looked around I found most people recommend the hybrid drives.

My question is what one is better? My local retailer carries a few of he segates, but Im having trouble finding out what one is better.

Seagate Laptop SSHD 1TB 2.5" 5400RPM 64MB Cache Solid State Hybrid Drive (ST1000LM014)

vs

Seagate Momentus XT (ST95005620AS) 500GB 7200RPM 32MB Cache 2.5" Solid State Hybrid Drive


My issue of confusion is the 5400rpm + 64mb cache vs the 7200rpm + 32mb cache
 
Those are the drives cache, not the hybrid SSD portion. The 500GB XT has like 4GB or maybe 8GB of SSD cache coupled with the 7200 RPM drive. It works very well for family systems, like mom's, grandma's, etc. I'm not sure how much SSD cache that 1TB drive has though.
 
that 500gb momentus xt has been discontinued for over a year, I have two of these and they all failed, luckily they are in a raid 1 array so I was able to recover all the data, seagate RMA is very quick and I got my replacement refurbished drive in a week. if you're buying now, go for 1tb and you can use it for your ps4, my 40gb ps3 was upgraded to a 5400rpm 250gb wd blue, I didn't notice much difference when I had a 7200rpm hitachi 500gb in it, probably because most of my games are on bluray so reading from hard drive is only marginally improving the performance.
 
Unless you're installing and launching games from the hard drive, go with a regular hard drive. If you want faster overall performance, a Western Digital Black would probably be better.
