i have a zalman 9500

was wondering if cables touching the heatsink is a bad thing?

and if bent fins are bad?

and also how do you change fanspeed for this? speedfan shows it only running at 400rpm and I can't change it through speedfan =\

As long as they're not getting in the way of air flow, or they're bare wires.

If they affect air flow, I guess. You can easily unbend them though.

Sounds like its motherboard controlled, or you're using a Fanmate. Either change the settings (program, or BIOS), or remove the Fanmate/turn it up.

The Zalman's come with a fan controller but if u didn't use it, then it should be working at full speed unless you have some kind of speed/temp controller in your motherboard bios that has to be disabled to run at max.
