Question about hard drive code I was looking at.

K, heres the deal. I need another drive, I need it to be sata 150. I found one I was happy with(click here-- http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...CategoryId=pcmcat33200050001&id=1097580128775)

The model number states |Model: WD1600JSRTL|, so with the model break down in the sticky..

x = the capacity of the drive in GB
WD puts an additional zero after the capacity value
a = buffer size and spindle speed

The best buy states that the drive is a SATA 150 drive, yet the code says its a SATA 3.0? Unless the "RTL" part of the code makes it different. Could someone help me here?

go to newegg.com and get the same hard drive with a 3 year warrantee instead of 1 (thats what rtl means, retail = 1 yr warr.), and get it tax free unless you live in one of the unlucky states, and it might even be a few bucks cheaper

also, sata2 works fine on your sata card. its just capable of higher speed.

RTL means it's a retail-pack drive instead of OEM. The warranty is shorter.

Buy from ZipZoomFly, not Newegg. They ship their drives in better packaging, and the prices are usually very close.

Last, the WD2500KS is my recommendation for single-disk, gaming-type applications.
