I received 1GB G.Skill pc3200 dual channel kit today for my father's computer, and one stick is dead. Looking closer at the stick I can see a small chip with 4 legs on each side that is out of place as if it was pushed to the side, with one of the leg not making contact with the pcb, so it's an actual visible physical defect. I'm pretty sure I did not do this as I handled the ram very carefuly. In the case of a defect like this should I request an RMA from the store I bought it from or from G.Skill directly? Or will they both take it? Thanks.

I'd try the store first, if that does not work then GSkill.

Thanks, I tried the store first (memoryc.com). Either way it's gonna be overseas shipping... :(
