Which client is the best to use? I just started and I am using the graphical client. Is the console one any better? Also are there any monitoring programs that I might want to use with this?
 
I have the graphical running right now. Can I switch it to the console client and stay on the WU I'm on right now?

i'm pretty sure you can
stop the client
just copy the WU (work unit) data to a diff. folder
delete the client
install the console client
look to the faq (thing i linked you to) for installation how-to and instructions.
