I have two 17inch ctx monitors near each other. There is now a slow line that goes up my screen every second or so. Will this cause damage to my monitors?

I have the same thing whenever I turn on my second monitor. I don't think it will cause damage. I have my pci vid card in the third slot whereas most people say it should be in the first one. Putting it there may get rid of the line but I haven't done it yet. I don't know how your system is set up so I can't really make any suggestions. Are you using one vid car or two?

It is two different machines. One is a server, the other is my main windows box.

It must be the EMI. Both my monitors are next to each other as a dual setup. Yours are just 2 different comps with the monitors next to each other. It is likey due in part to the age of the monitors as well. My 15in is really old and my Dell is almost 4yrs old. I would just keep one of them turned off unless you are using it at the time or try and mover them further apart. I'm getting a new CRT soon so I can deal with my line for the time being.
