hey everyone.. I got a quick question, I got a new toshiba 27" flat crt tv last night, and needed someone to put it. So I threw it on the tables in my room next to my 19" monitor as so:

I was just wondering if I have to worry about the health of either being so close together?

I did notice the odd slow line of blur wandering down the 19" monitor a couple times, but other than that, everything seems clear.
 
I had a 25" Sharp next to a 19" Dell P990 (Sony 420gs) for about three years and it never caused any problems other than the line you speak of. Should be fine then.

After I got rid of the Dell and went to a 21" Mitsubishi, I didn't even get the line. But the Mitsu had massive amounts of RFI shielding around the electronics and plenty of filter stuff on the line side so that could explain it.
 
I would be more worried about your health. Computer CRTs are designed to not put out as much high energy radiation in your face as they used to, but Televisions are a different story. The typical view distance for a TV is much greater than that of a CRT monitor and that means more lax regulations on radiation output. I would be more worried about nose cancer.
 
I'm sure his TV was made after the Cold War era...

I geigered (I get all kinds of shit mil surplus) my 27" sony and my Mitsu 21" and both were coming up with almost nothing. It looked like a bunch of background radiation and didn't get worse even with the screens showing white and the window of the detector pressed right up on the screen
 
I'm a fulltime smoker... I think I have more important cancer to worry about.. If anything the radiation from the tv can be my pre-cancer treatment :)

on the monitor note.. I'm assuming if anythign happened, it be the tv hurting the monitor... now that just sounds like an excuse to buy a new monitor :)
