Hi, I try to findout the watt of each of these fans ; Cougar Turbine 140mm Hyper Spin Bearing Fan 1000RPM 64.5/109.6CFM 17.9DB 3Pin Black - OEM and Cougar Turbine 120mm Hyper Spin Bearing Fan 1200RPM 60.4/102.6CFM 17.7DB 3Pin Black - OEM. I google them and didnt find that. I got a Nzxt Sentry LX fan controller and I wonder to know if I'll be able to control them before buying them. Thanks :)

I couldn't find any power consumption specs either but think of it this way, they are only 1200 RPM and 1000 RPM fans. Fans in that speed range usually consume 1 or 2 watts. I assure you that you can plug them into your fan controller with no problems since it can do up to 6 watts per channel. Also, since they are both 3 pin fans you should be able to control their speed without any problems.

Just got them today. Great fans at the price ( 4$ CND each ) at only .20a.

I hope I'm not taking this thread too far off, but I seem to find contradictory opinions about 3-pin vs. 4-pin fans. Does it really matter which way the fan speed is controlled? (Not a troll, an honest question.)

4-pins = Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) which is a bit better solution than just lowering the voltage on the fan. Some fans won't work at given voltage drops. Say a fan might work at 7 volts but not at 5 and this could be a issue on a 3pin fan.

I own a 4-pack of the cougar fans 1kRPM. Can't speak on wattage usage. I will say using Asus Q-Fan on silent the fan would not run. My cheaper coolermaster fans would. The voltage reading was around 3.5v. I now use fan reducers that drop to 9v on the 1000rpm and sound isn't too bad. For the money I would of stuck with some yate loons I own.

The low voltage start coupled with the many many reports of various model Cougar fans not being able to work horizontally without serious motor noise and other strange sounds turned me off..

Last weekend when the 120mm fluid bearing versions were marked down from $19.99 to $9.99 @ the 'Egg mad it tempting to grab 6 of them for push/pull on my 320mm rad, while selling my slightly used GT AP-15s to cover most of the cost..

I decided not to gamble and actually found the GT's on sale 2 for $25 with free shipping @ NCIX, so I grabbed them there..
