Question about corsair ram

I currently have corsair 3200twinx LL ram.. stuff is great and all, however i'm building another computer and i was browsing newegg adding stuff to my wishlist.. and the 3200twinx LL ram wasn't there. It's been there for like ever, now its just gone.. They have the same stuff with the platinum heat spreaders.. but not the normal black ones like i have in my computer now.. I was just wondering if there was any real difference between the two besides the color of the heat spreaders, its going in a shuttle so no one will be able to see it so it doesn't matter what color it is.

There is no difference in thermal performance between the two heatspreader types. Actually, I'd venture to guess that there is no difference by adding a heatspreader altogether.
 
ok.. than it should be the exact same thing, just different color heatspreader..?
