Question about cleaning of paste

I got a VGA Silencer and i had it in my hands then i had a thought: do i clean off the old paste first or do i just go ahead and apply the new thermal paste just like that? Plz lemme know thanks

Clean off the old paste, most definately. You can do so using either goof-off or rubbing alcohol..

Use only Isopropyl Alcohol 90% won't leave any residue, don't use anything else
