Question about cases for SLi

So with my vertical lian li case I get about 10-15 degrees higher temps on my top card vs my bottom card. Is this specifically because of the gap in my motherboard isn't providing enough space or is it because of the case? Would corsair hfa xb evo solve the issue? My bottom card runs perfectly fine rarely going over 60 but top card hits 72-75 under heavy load.
If its just that the gap isn't big enough then I'll probably just wait out to replace both my motherboard, cpu, and case later but if its because of airflow then I'll think about replacing case now. The fact that the bottom card doesn't ever run hot seems to me like it is more of a motherboard issue.

The temp difference will always be in SLI. Especially with cards like yours, which do not have exhaust cooling system. Had the same trouble with the Strix... You can either try the mobo that have the 3 slot space between cards, but they are top tier boards and cost a lot - like Gaming G1 or Xpower AC. The other solution is water.

Problem with those mobos is that they have the PLX PEX chips, which, from what I heard, doesn't play nice with dual GPU setups.
